Can my kitchen cabinets be resprayed?

The kitchen is the heart of many homes, and re-spraying your kitchen cabinets can make yours all the more inviting.
The beautiful finishes we have achieved for our customers over the years offer an affordable way to breathe new life into dated kitchens.
Not all cabinets can be resprayed, so keep reading to find out if you’re up for new cabinetry, or if you can get them resurfaced!
(Hint: most cabinets can be sprayed – but there are times when we have to say it can’t be done to a high standard, and therefore we won’t do them.)
Kitchen respraying needs a good foundation
Re-spraying makes an incredible difference to kitchen cabinets and surfaces – it’s cost effective too, but the process relies on good old-fashioned quality workmanship.
Edge Resurfacing uses industrial strength polyurethane paint to re-spray every kitchen cabinet it works with, and this treatment comes with a three year warranty.
To ensure the best quality workmanship and finish, the cabinets themselves need to be in good condition to start with.
If your cabinets need repairing, we can mend minor imperfections before we spray the surface, preparing them ahead of the makeover. Wood can be sanded and filled and cracks in laminate can be filled with polyester filler. We can even remove and replace old door handles after the cabinets have been sprayed.
However, if your kitchen cabinets are too worn or damaged, then re-spraying may not be the best option. We’ll always be upfront about that.
After all, we aim to produce the very best finishes, and to do that we need to start with a good foundation.
Material differences for kitchen respraying
Just as the kitchen cabinets need to be in good condition to begin with, it’s also vital to understand the different surfaces that need attention.
It’s possible to resurface timber, laminate, tile, and even bath surfaces and shower trays, with each surface requiring slightly different techniques to prepare, re-spray and achieve the best possible finish.
But there are some surfaces we don’t respray, such as wet areas, rusted surfaces, and badly damaged materials.
We’ll always let you know what can and can’t be done, so you can make an informed decision about the work.

Resurfacing kitchen cabinets is a great choice
Instead of spending time knocking everything out and then paying the high price of installing a new set of kitchen cabinetry, re-spraying can achieve the look you want for a fraction of the cost.
Forget paying $25,000 or more for a renovation. Hire us to update your look for between $4,000 – $6,000 (that’s for the whole kitchen! Ask us about cabinetry-only rates). Because we use only quality industrial paint, the life expectancy of our work is the same as a completely new kitchen installation, and we offer a guarantee for our workmanship.
With a few modifications, your old kitchen cabinets and surfaces can be completely transformed.
